Denver golf courses, public and private, are quite numerous and span the range from beginner to professional. The public courses include Denver City Park with 18 holes, Foothills with three courses of 18, 9, and 9 holes, and Green Valley Ranch. Harvard Gulch has 9 holes and has tree lined fairways. Mountain View has 9 demanding holes, doglegged fairways, and numerous water hazards. Overland is the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River, and has been redesigned three times since 1895.
